Under the patronage of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Southern Transitional Council and the Governor of Socotra Archipelago, Engineer Raafat Al-Thaqali, the Forum of Southern Academics and Experts concluded a workshop on project management and marketing for non-profit organizations in Socotra Archipelago. The workshop, which targeted the Socotra Development and Response Foundation, was held over three days from February 18th to 20th via the Zoom application.
On the first day of the workshop, the trainer Ms. Muradi Saleh provided detailed explanations to the trainees on the importance of marketing for non-profit organizations, emphasizing the need to identify the organization’s goals and consider the satisfaction of the targeted beneficiaries of initiatives and volunteer operations. The basics of digital content creation were also discussed, along with primary sources for accessing valuable and purposeful content.
On the second and third days of the workshop, Ms. Khalood Al-Amoudi discussed how to choose projects that meet the requirements of the community, taking into account all the surrounding factors, as well as developing a guide to help associations improve and design their projects. She also talked about the mechanism of collecting and analyzing data, identifying and formulating the problem, helping to set the overall goal and specific objectives of the project and the indicators necessary to verify their achievement. In addition, she introduced the methods of monitoring, evaluation, and planning for the process of measuring the return on investment of the project and its impact on the community, training the participants on how to formulate the projects in their final form.
During the workshop, emphasis was placed on the best practices in managing developmental projects. A guide was also presented containing some necessary guidelines for developing project proposals and reaching the final project format.
At the end of the workshop, outlines for upcoming activities that the trainees would prepare on the ground were presented, and participation certificates were distributed to the trainees.
Finally, the forum conveyed to the trainees greetings from the General Administration of Foreign Affairs, thanking them for their participation and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
